Settings explained
Words & languages
Help recognition with names, specialist words and preferred spellings.
In the app: Settings → Words & languages
Help the app recognise what you mean
- Preferred language choices
- Leave empty for automatic detection, or select up to three languages as recognition hints. Some older note models support one fixed language; multiple choices use detection with context hints.
- Vocabulary word
- A name or specialist word the recogniser should know, such as “ThoughtKeeper” or a project name. This is a hint, not a guaranteed transcription.
- Recognized spelling → Preferred spelling
- A correction for a consistent mistake. Future speech processing replaces the recognised spelling with your preferred version. Only create a rule when that replacement makes sense every time.
- Search vocabulary
- Filters the dictionary so you can find and edit an entry; it does not change recognition.
Try this
Add “AcmeFlow” as a vocabulary word. If the app repeatedly writes “Acme Flo”, add a spelling rule from “Acme Flo” to “AcmeFlow”.
Good to know
Press Save speech settings after editing languages or the dictionary. Changes affect future processing. The original provider transcript stays available.
Remember a correction deliberately
An edit becomes a rule only after you accept its suggestion.
- In Remember this spelling after an edit, enter the before and after wording.
- Press Remember this spelling to create a suggestion.
- Review it and choose Accept rule or Dismiss. Save any other dictionary edits before accepting suggestions.
