Talk: style, voice & hands-free
Choose how the assistant sounds and understand when it is listening.
In the app: Talk
Choose how the assistant talks
- Friendly / Witty / Brief
- Friendly is warm and conversational. Witty adds light humour. Brief keeps answers short and skips small talk. Change the style between conversations.
- Voice / Hear voice
- Choose a built-in voice and play its sample. Voice and style choices are remembered for your account on this browser.
- Hands-free: say “ThoughtKeeper” to start
- On supported desktop browsers, the browser’s speech service listens for the name while this tab is open. Click the page if prompted, wait for the chime, then speak. ThoughtKeeper does not receive or keep that wake-listening audio; your browser’s speech service handles it.
- Mute
- Stops your microphone sending speech during the conversation. The session keeps running. Use End conversation to finish.
Ask, check and finish
Try “What did I write about my business idea?” or “Add a task to call Morgan tomorrow”. Review the confirmed result and any pending task changes. For outside information, first enable Research tools, then use requests such as “Search the web for…” or “Read [HTTPS URL]”.
Talk displays the current duration limit and starts left today. Daily starts reset on UTC time. Each hands-free start also uses one start. End the conversation when you are finished; saving your words as a note is a separate action.
Good to know
Only one recorder can use the microphone at a time. On phones or unsupported browsers, use Start talking instead of hands-free.
