Help & privacy
Where your words and audio go
Understand the difference between private notes, cloud processing and local recovery.
Private account, cloud processing
Your notes belong to your private account. Web transcription, writing and conversation use configured cloud AI services. A result stored locally still may have been processed in the cloud.
External Research sends the current question or selected source text to its services when enabled. These controls do not promise zero retention by the providers.
Three separate choices
- Library approval
- Controls which notes can be reused for copy and writing examples. It is separate from saving a note and finding your own private notes.
- Browser dictation recovery
- Off keeps temporary dictation in memory. Optional seven-day history keeps up to eight recordings in this browser without app-level encryption. Turning it off clears retained dictations for this account.
- Account retention
- Controls automatic deletion of saved notes after their last edit. It is separate from dictation recovery history and provider retention.
